Labor Day Flea Market and Gun Show Sept. 1-4, 2017

Make your plan to join us in Hillsville, Virginia for the annual Labor Day Weekend Flea Market and Gun Show. 

Come visit the town of Hillsville, Virginia nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, exit 14 off I-77. Labor Day Weekend our small town hosts one of the largest flea markets on the East coast with an estimated half a million people expected to visit the Hillsville Flea Market and Gun Show. Tent shops line the streets with vendors selling antiques, guns, coins, comics, clothes, toys, jewelry, food, collectables, crafts, artisans, contemporary items and so much more. The VFW, Grover King Post 1115, sponsors the event and houses indoor vendors as well as an extensive parking lot full of vendors. The flea market begins Friday and ends Monday. Be sure to visit and support this fun event!

Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting

Come and enjoy the holiday festivities in downtown Hillsville. Free Stocking Stuffing from 5:00-6:00 pm.  Tree Lighting at 5:15 pm in front of the historic Hillsville Courthouse. Our Christmas Parade begins at 6:00 pm, and starts at Edgewood Drive and finishes at the VFW. The parade lineup begins at 5:00 pm.

Thunder in the Hills Play

Thunder in the Hills will be performed Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights at 7pm and Sundays at 2pm.

Tickets are $25 ($10 goes to the J. Sidna Allen House Restoration Fund)

Tickets are available at the historical museum, by emailing carrollmuseum@yahoo.com, sipuckett@ls.net, or by calling 276-728-4113. 

Cash and checks made payable to Courthouse Productions and mailed to P.O. Box 937 Hillsville, VA 24343. 
 

THe Carter Home next door to the courthouse is offering dinner for $15 each evening (except for April 8th) prior to the play. Reservations can be made by calling 276-728-7737 or 276-728-2947.

Christmas Stocking Stuffing, Tree Lighting and Parade

Stocking Stuffing begins at 5:00 pm. Tree Lighting will begin at 6:00 and the Parade will follow at 7:00 pm in front of the historic courthouse. Parade lineup at the Carroll County complex begins at 6:00 pm. This year's parade theme is Christmas Through a Child's Eyes.

Sidna Allen's Dream Play and Pre-Play Dinner

"Sidna Allen's Dream" Play and Pre-Play Dinner. 

Dinners will be served from 5 pm to 6:30 pm Fridays and Saturdays and 12 pm - 1:30 pm on Sundays at the Hale Wilkinson Carter Home. A menu can be found at the Town Hall. Tickets are $15 each. Contact Elizabeth Huff 276-728-7737 or the Carroll County Historical Museum.
