The Town of Hillsville and the Carroll County Public Service Authority (PSA) operate a number of water and wastewater treatment systems in Carroll County, serving the Carroll County Industrial Park, the I-77/US 58 commercial area, and various residential areas.

Solid Waste Disposal

Carroll County is a member of the Carroll-Grayson-Galax Solid Waste Authority. The Authority operates a landfill, which accepts industrial (non-hazardous) waste. The Town of Hillsville provides waste pickup within the town limits, and a private contractor provides pickup in Carroll County. Private contractors transport hazardous waste to sites in West Virginia or South Carolina.
